Autumn is very much becoming my favourite season. I love the colours, the cold, crisp, bright sunny days wrapped up in scarves and blankets. Warm drinks, cosy fires and the slower days with darker nights. There is something very comforting about this season and as I get older, I realise that these small comforts really do make all the difference.
It’s been a busy month what with work and Christmas planning. Every year is different but it has definitely felt that the end of 2022 has been flying towards us at a rate of knots! It’s meant I haven’t had as much time to read as I would have liked but hey, that’s life and we have to go with it.
I’ve tried mixing it up this month with a selection of books from different genres. I do always feel the need to reach for my old comfort, fantasy and as I said earlier, there’s definitely nothing wrong in that! I started the month finishing up the Magic Ship by Robin Hobb. If you haven’t read any Robin Hobb and enjoy fantasy or YA, then grab yourself a series. I suggest starting with the Farseer Trilogy – these are fabulous books and will drop you straight into the world Robin has so beautifully curated. Read my review of the Farseer Trillogy and then make sure to grab yourself a copy!
Books from November & December:
📚 Devil’s Way by Robert Bryndza
📚 Silence of the Girls by Pat Barker
📚 The Magic Ship by Robin Hobb
📚 The Keeper of Stories by Sally Page
📚 Circe by Madeline Miller
There’s a real collection here and if you haven’t had a chance to read any of these, I hope you feel inspired to pick up one of these to read. If you have already read one, I’d love to know what you thought. Drop me a comment or send me an email.
As always, happy reading!
